Research

The research carried out at the Faculty of Management, Economics & Law takes an interdisciplinary approach and covers a diverse range of current societal challenges. There is a particular focus on ‘Business & Law’, ‘Business, Society & Space’ and ‘Business & Technology’. The overarching topic of ‘digitization’ is reflected in the many different research activities.

Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of economic, legal, geospatial and societal structures and processes. Researchers in the faculty are also concerned with innovations in business and society, regional development and issues relating to energy and the environment.

For the multi-disciplinary focus on the subject of ‘entrepreneurship’, particular attention is paid to issues relating to the foundation of a company, company development and growth, succession and restructuring. The faculty also does a lot to support the establishment and development of a start-up culture by promoting spin-offs on the Klagenfurt campus.
