Larissa Krainer is an associate professor at the Department of Media and Communications.
Larissa Krainer (*1967) studied Philosophy and Media and Communication Studies at the University of Klagenfurt. In the period from 1988 to 1997 she worked as a journalist. From 1995 to 1997 she managed the regional office of amnesty international in Carinthia. She started her teaching and research career at the University of Klagenfurt in 1998, where she completed her habilitation on Media and Communication Ethics in 2001. In her current role as an associate professor at the Department of Media and Communications, her main research focus is on this topic. She also addresses topics such as sustainability and organisational communication, science communication, and the epistemology and methodology of inter- and transdisciplinary research. In the years from 2016 to 2022, Larissa Krainer served as the chair of the Senate of the University of Klagenfurt.
Larissa Krainer assumed the role of Process Management Officer in December 2024 and is a member of the extended university management.
