The Financial Directorate is responsible for the central financial affairs of the University of Klagenfurt. It performs essential tasks such as budget planning, financial controlling, infrastructure management and ensuring sustainable resource management. The Finance Directorate thus supports the Rectorate and other organisational units to ensure the optimal use of financial resources and to achieve the university’s goals. The Financial Directorate is also responsible for all matters relating to university infrastructure.

Alexander Presch has served as Financial Director at the University of Klagenfurt since 2013.
Alexander Presch (*1972) studied Commercial Science specialising in Financial and Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His career path led him from tax consultancy and auditing at KPMG Vienna, to the treasury at Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft, before returning to Carinthia to take up a role in the controlling department at Landesimmobiliengesellschaft (2007). His current focus is on the university’s finance and investment management. Alexander Presch is responsible for facility infrastructure and the University Sports Institute. In his role as Finance Director, he is involved in many processes and internal projects across all university departments.
