Writing Centre

The Writing Centre at the University of Klagenfurt was the first of its kind to be established at an Austrian university. Celebrating a long tradition in the USA, today writing skills centres are also widespread in Europe. The range of support available includes writing courses, writing consultancy, text coaching and writing workshops dedicated to scientific writing, as well as to professional or creative writing. At the same time, we also provide didactic guidance to those with teaching responsibilities and we advise departments engaged in creating a constructive programme to support student writing efforts in line with the respective curriculum.

The services provided by the Writing Centre are made available to students, on the one hand, and researchers, teaching staff and general staff working at the university, on the other hand. Moreover, the Writing Centre can also provide assistance to all other interested parties and non-university organisations involved in research, further education and training or businesses that wish to evaluate their own text production carefully in order to improve their texts.
