The Rector of Studies and the Vice-Rector of Studies are responsible for implementing study regulations in the first instance (Section 19 Para. 2 Clause 2 of the Universities Act 2002, Section 1 Para. 2 AAU Statute Part A).
The Rector of Studies and the Vice-Rector of Studies are responsible for the following:
- organising the university’s course offerings
- managing the teaching budget
- examinations
- approvals connected with research activities
- awarding degrees and organising graduation ceremonies
- recognising overseas qualifications (Nostrifizierung)
- awarding scholarships for Academic Excellence and support grants.
