FOR FRESHERS – SUMMER SEMESTER 2025
What can you expect?
ENJOY AN EASY START INTO EVERYDAY UNIVERSITY LIFE
The Welcome Days not only provide you with the most important information for starting your studies but also give you the opportunity to get to know the university, your fellow students, and your lecturers. During the Welcome Days, you will receive both individualized information about your chosen degree programme and general information that will make your student life easier.
The Welcome Days feature degree-specific sessions, campus and library tours, as well as opportunities to meet and connect with others. Additionally, you can get to know important university service points at the information stands in the main hall (Aula).
The Welcome Days count as a course – after your successful participation you will receive 1 ECTS credit!
HOW DO I SUCCESSFULLY PARTICIPATE IN THE WELCOME DAYS?
- Watch the video clip “Introduction to the campus system“ at aau.at/en/welcome-days.
- Register for the course 000.100 Welcome Days at campus.aau.at (campus system). On Moodle, you will find important information about starting your studies, which you can review before the programme begins on campus. Please note that you cannot log in to Moodle with your account until you have been accepted onto the course “Welcome Days”. As long as the status remains “registered/angemeldet”, you won’t have access.
- Take part in the Welcome Days programme on the 4th of March 2025 on campus. Answer the questions on the stamp pass, which you will receive during the Opening & Introduction at 9 a.m. in lecture hall A (HS A). Collect the stamps for your stamp pass at the mandatory Opening & Introduction, the degree-specific session for your studies, and a campus tour OR a library tour. Submit the fully completed stamp pass at the stamp spot in the Oman Hall by 5 p.m. at the latest.

You can look forward to a diverse programme on campus on the 4th of March 2025. If you prefer, you can participate without completing any academic requirements and simply use the opportunity to meet your fellow students – in this case, however, no ECTS credit will be awarded. If you wish to earn 1 ECTS credit, the Welcome Days are considered a course. In this case, attendance, participation, and submission of a fully completed stamp pass are mandatory.

On the 4th of March 2025, programme directors, teaching assistants and student union representatives will provide you with essential information about your degree programme. The respective sessions will be offered in the language of instruction of the respective degree programme (German or English). Attend the session that matches your degree programme.
Participation is mandatory and must be confirmed with a stamp on your stamp pass.
Take part in a campus and library tour to get to know the university and campus better. To earn 1 ECTS credit, you should attend at least one guided tour – either a campus tour OR a library tour. Tours must be confirmed with a stamp on the stamp pass.

If you wish to earn 1 ECTS credit, the Welcome Days are considered a course. In this case, attendance, participation, and submission of a fully completed stamp pass are mandatory. You must submit your fully completed stamp pass until 5 p.m. at the stamp spot in the Oman Hall – this is a prerequisite for earning your first ECTS credit.
After your successful participation, your first ECTS credit will appear in your transcript starting mid-April.

Campus and library tours
Take part in a campus and library tour to get to know the university and campus better. To earn 1 ECTS credit, you should attend at least one guided tour – either a campus tour OR a library tour. Tours must be confirmed with a stamp on the stamp pass.
CAMPUS TOURS | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The campus tours are offered in collaboration with the Student Union (ÖH). They take place at 11 a.m., 12 noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. You can pick up the voucher for the campus tour from 11 a.m. onwards at the main entrance of the University of Klagenfurt. Legal Regulations

ZID

Moodle
Moodle is our learning platform at the University of Klagenfurt and corresponds to a virtual course space. Here, for example, working materials and learning activities are provided by teaching staff for our students.
Library Tour
The University Library is the scientific information centre of the University of Klagenfurt and ensures the provision of literature and information carriers for study, research, teaching and further education. We show you how to use our books and databases for your studies and tell you where you can find which information.
Writing Centre
The Writing Centre at the University of Klagenfurt offers students writing courses, writing groups, writing advice, text coaching and writing workshops on academic writing, and also on job-related or creative writing.

Our campus tour will take you to the most important places around the university as well as showing you the general facilities of the University of Klagenfurt that you need to study successfully.
