Deregistering from a programme of study

If you wish to leave your programme of study at the University of Klagenfurt, you can submit an online application via the Student Portal under “My applications” and then “Deregister from a programme of study / Exmatriculate”.

You can only deregister from your programme if you have no outstanding library loans or fines.

You cannot apply to deregister from a programme if your registration on that programme is provisional (status = “provisional”). If this is the case, you must contact the Programmes and Exams Office.

If you fulfil the requirements listed above, you can submit an application to deregister from your programme at any time.

If you are taking several programmes of study and only want to deregister from one, you may do so unless your programme status is listed as “provisional”. If this is the case, you must contact the Programmes and Exams Office.

Once your deregistration has been processed by the Programmes and Exams Office, you will be able to view your up-to-date confirmation of enrolment form under “My confirmations”. If you exmatriculate, please note that you will only have access to the Student Portal for a few days after exmatriculation.

You will also receive confirmation of your exmatriculation by email. If you have requested a leaving certificate, e.g. for applying for the same or another programme at another university in Austria, you can also view this under “My confirmations”.
