Research interests (Forschungsschwerpunkte)
I am a philosopher of science with a focus on philosophy of science in practice, science and technology studies, and values in science. My prior research includes the history and philosophy of medicine, ethics, and practical rationality. Since October 2020, I have been a member of the Research Unit The Epistemology of the Large Hadron Collider, project B3, Producing novelty and securing credibility: LHC experiments from the perspective of Social Studies of Science. In the project, I focus on the internal review practices related to the detector upgrade. By engaging in qualitative interviews with physicists involved in different aspects of the upgrade work, I analyze how credibility and quality are ascertained in design negotiations, test procedures, and evaluation processes.
