Team Aspera

The Team:

Team Aspera was founded very recently in September 2024 by three robotics enthusiasts,

  • Narcis-Remus  Dumea
  • Chamil Oshan Abeysakara
  • Binura Laksara Widanagama

students of the Department of Smart Systems Technologies, Sensors, Actuators and Modular robotics group under the lead of Prof. Hubert Zangl of the University of Klagenfurt, Austria

Together they had the dream of competing at renowned robotics competitions.

The robot platform:
Our robot platform is made up of a Jaguar 4×4 wheeled mobile platform (from Dr. Robot, Canada) and a Hebi A-2085-6G series elastic 6 DoF arm manipulator (from Hebi Robotics, US .

The central on board computing unit is a Odroid N2, which runs a mate version of Ubuntu 18 and serves as the roscore for our network.

Current sensors include:

Intel Realsense depth cameras (D435, D455),

Intel Realsense tracking cameras (T265)

Toposense 3D ultrasonic camera (not used in current scenarios)

Custom made wireless capacitive tactile and proximity sensors arrays
