Research Council at the University of Klagenfurt
Most internal funding is handled by the Universität Klagenfurt Research Council. The following funding is awarded by the Research Council:
- University funding
- Funding offered by the State of Carinthia
- Funding offered by the City of Klagenfurt
- Funding offered by the Kärntner Sparkasse private foundation and other potential funding bodies
Funding is available for publications, projects and research events. A mobility grant for young researchers, grants specifically for AAU doctoral students and grants for courses on new doctoral programmes are also available.
The Research Council consists of the Vice-Rector for Research, who acts as the Chair for the council, and four professorial staff nominated by Faculty deans and may also include a representative from the relevant funding body:
The Kärntner Sparkasse private foundation is an important funding body. Their funding is aimed at transformational innovations that will facilitate the regional and economic development of the State of Carinthia, with a particular focus on MINT subjects (mathematics, information technology, science and technology).
All administration relating to internal funding is handled by the Research Support Service.
