Anti-plagiarism measures for academic research
Although plagiarism is by no means a modern phenomenon, the Internet Age has renewed universities’ focus on the issue and has brought a new dimension to it. The University of Klagenfurt has therefore put in place a range of sanctions for plagiarism detected retrospectively, as well as measures aimed at preventing plagiarism from occurring in future work. All dissertations and diploma submissions dating back to 2002 were analysed using DocoLoc, an electronic plagiarism finder. Since 2008, all theses have undergone an automatic plagiarism check using DocoLoc.
