The campaign “Let’s make AAU wealthier”
Between 2016 and 2018, the northern and central wings of the University of Klagenfurt were comrehensively refurbished. BIG (Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft) financed the refurbishment of the buildings. The technical equipment and furnishing of the lecture halls were self-financed by the university, which is why AAU launched the fundraising campaign “Let’s make AAU wealthier”.
The campaign was aimed at graduates, students, staff, friends and friends of the university and appealed for their support. By choosing a EUR 200 (GOLD), EUR 100 (SIVER) or EUR 50 (BRONZE) package, donors were able to endow a seat. In return, name badges featuring the founders’ name were attached to the respective seats once renovations had been completed in 2018. As well as providing financial support, the campaign also looked back over the past decades and invited all those involved to share their personal memories. As a result, the campaign collected more than 400 anecdotes, pictures and memories of the people in and around the University of Klagenfurt covering the last 40 years.
