Our graduate Manuel Krebs studied Applied Business Administration at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, and also completed a Master’s degree in International Management. Today he is a member of the Talent Network team at Infineon Austria Technologies AG in Villach. The well-balanced curriculum and the positive image of the university particularly caught his eye when choosing a degree programme.
Ms. Clara Josefine Hoestermann, B.A. MSc, was awarded the Digitalization Scholarship of the Province of Carinthia for her master’s thesis “Evaluating the potentials of Smart Technology in the context of patient wellbeing in hospital settings” supervised by Assoc.Prof. Mag. Dr. Gerhard Leitner, Department of Informatics Systems, Research Group Interactive Systems.
From 29 submitted scientific theses on the topic of digitization and its impact or significance for Carinthia, respectively three bachelor’s theses, diploma or master’s theses as well as dissertations were selected by a jury and honored by Governor Dr. Peter Kaiser during an award ceremony on November 23, 2022.

Innovative programmes for the promotion of excellent Master’s students are being developed within the framework of the cooperation with HUAWEI Austria. Thanks to HUAWEI’s support, the University of Klagenfurt has now launched the new HUAWEI Technology Scholarships to encourage excellent Master’s students from the Faculty of Technical Sciences. We have also introduced the HUAWEI Best Performer Awards, which honour students who have achieved an outstanding academic performance. Together, these two programmes further enhance the attractiveness of the technical degree programmes in Klagenfurt.
