KARRIEREWEGE: “Artificial intelligence is currently all the rage”

In the latest edition of the panel discussion KARRIEREWEGE about 50 students dove headfirst into the rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence with all its advantages and challenges. With great interest, successful graduates from various technical study programmes of the University of Klagenfurt talked about their career entry and gave valuable tips for career planning. The event was moderated by Aya Safan, software engineer and informatics student of the University of Klagenfurt.

Celebrating ‘50 years of maths’ in Klagenfurt

The 50th anniversary of the scientific discipline of mathematics at the University of Klagenfurt will be celebrated this summer.  Since the establishment of the first two chairs in 1974 with a focus on the didactics of mathematics, three departments have been formed, which jointly invite you to the anniversary celebrations on the 25th of June 2024 with a Gauss Lecture, a competition, and an interactive exhibition.

New research project: 20 to 30 per cent more energy efficiency for the metal processing industry thanks to artificial intelligence

The metal processing industry requires a considerable amount of energy, especially for sawing, grinding and milling. Using artificial intelligence methods, researchers are now hoping to increase efficiency by 20 to 30 per cent. The SAELING project is realised jointly by the University of Klagenfurt, the KU Leuven and the industrial partners Voestalpine and Siemens and is funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG at a cost of around 1.2 million euros.

Das schwarzhumorige, erschreckend aktuelle, preisgekrönte Stück des australischen Autors Stephen Carleton ist die erste Arbeit der neu gegründeten „Drama Group of the English Department of the University of Klagenfurt – S.O.S.“. Regie führt Sabine Kristof-Kranzelbinder.
