The university gets cycling: Here are the winners of the May challenges

Since the launch of the initiative “The university gets cycling” at the end of April, students and staff have been pedalling hard. Some 11,000 kilometres have been travelled by bike in June so far. Given the current fuel prices, this is not only good for the climate, but also for your wallet.

  • Most kilometres cycled overall: Michael Kurnik
  • Most kilometres commuted by bike: Lisa Wirges
  • Most frequent commute by bike: Marco Seiwald
  • Longest cycled commuting route: Celine Gunz
  • Most altitude metres covered in a single journey: Lisa Wirges

STAFF

  • Most kilometres cycled overall: Gerhard Leitner
  • Most kilometres commuted by bike: Gerhard Leitner
  • Longest cycled commuting route: Gerhard Leitner
  • Most frequent commute by bike: Andrea Bonizzi

Gerhard Leitner (Department of Informatics Systems) is the overall winner for the month of May and the winner of the swiss stone pine hike through the pine forest in the Nockberge biosphere park!

Marie Meyer-Marktl studied Business Administration at the University of Klagenfurt. She started her career in controlling, then became pricing manager and finally CFO of a high-turnover international company. Today she is self-employed and supports people as a coach in finding a fulfilling and successful working life. Visitors to the connect job & career fair were also treated to her expertise – her career speed coaching sessions and the impulse lecture were very well attended.In the interview, Marie Meyer-Marktl gives insights into her career change journey, talks about how her time as a student and the international experiences contributed to this decision, and reveals how students and graduates can find their dream job. Andreas Koppensteiner studied Applied Business Administration at the University of Klagenfurt. At first, he did not consider leaving Carinthia. Now, he has been living in France since 2001.
