M.A.LTT - M.A. in Language Testing and Teaching

The Klagenfurt M.A. in Language Testing and Teaching consists of a theory-based component and a practice component. It is aimed at language teachers of all languages, first or second, who have completed their university education. The course combines theory with practice. In the theory component, students gain in-depth knowledge of principles of test construction and evaluation as well as an understanding of key features of test quality. They are also introduced to principles of test analysis, both quantitative and qualitative. In the practice component, students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in item and prompt writing, rater training, benchmarking and standard setting. For the M.A. thesis, students can choose a topic that is based on the theoretical and practical input and ideally addresses issues that are relevant to the students’ working context.
