Scholarship for a self-organized study period abroad

The scholarship for a self-organized study period abroad allows students to complete a creditable one-semester study period at a university that does not have a partnership with Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt. Tuition fees of the host institution are not covered.

Application process

Following documents must be uploaded on to the student portal

• CV with signature
• 1 Letter of confirmation by the Study Programme Director that the exchange semester is study relevant
• Confirmation of enrolment by the host university

Programme terms

Tuition fees are waived at the student’s home university. Grants only cover living costs and travel costs. This is not a full scholarship. The value of the grant is set according to rates offered by the financial aid office and the value of Joint-Study scholarships.

Application deadline

Up to two weeks before starting the mobility

Consideration will only be given to complete applications that are received by the application deadline.

It is advisable to submit an application for preliminary exam recognition to the partner university before your departure and to have this confirmed by the Study Programme Director.

After the mobility

Every scholarship holder has to upload an evaluation questionnaire and the Transcript of Records within a month after the end of mobility at the application in the student portal.

The scholarship will be transferred after the mobility and the submission of the required documents.

The formal fulfilment of all application requirements does not imply any right to financial support. Funding will be awarded based on the competition and the available funds.
