The aim of this certificate is to familiarise students with key aspects of entrepreneurial thinking and action and to present “self-employment” as a viable career opportunity. The courses convey the necessary business and legal knowledge. Thanks to the combination of academic and practical orientation throughout the courses, students will develop the skills required to successfully implement business ideas.

The certificate programme (Basic and Advanced) is divided into three modules and comprises a total of 18 ECTS credits. Completion of Module I is compulsory for students enrolled in non-business studies. In the degree programmes Applied Business Administration, Business and Law, Information Management and International Management, courses taken as part of the regular degree programme can be credited towards Module I (see overview of possible course credits).

Courses offered: Students must complete courses totalling 10 ECTS credits from the courses offered in Modules I and II in order to obtain the Basic Certificate. To acquire the build! Entrepreneurship Advanced Certificate, students must choose two of the three courses offered in Module III. In total, 18 ECTS credits must be completed, whereby participants who have already received the Basic Certificate will be awarded credit. This means that a further 8 ECTS credits must be earned from courses that have not yet been completed. Courses from Modules II and III can only be attended after Module I has been completed or credited, as basic knowledge of business administration is required. Language: The majority of the certificate courses are held in German. However, in some cases, students also have the option of completing the required coursework in English.
