Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter:innen der Universität Klagenfurt bieten während der Veranstaltung future jobs Workshops an teilnehmende Schüler:innen an.Bei „future jobs “ am Gelände des Technologieparks Villach lernen Jugendliche der AHS (8. Schulstufe) Berufe und Ausbildungswege aus den Bereichen Technik sowie Forschung und Entwicklung hautnah kennen. Die Jugendlichen erfahren aus erster Hand, welche Ausbildungen notwendig sind, um später in einem High-Tech-Unternehmen einen Job zu finden. Durch die frühzeitige interaktive Begegnung mit Betrieben und Ausbildungseinrichtungen und durch den persönlichen Kontakt zu Menschen aus Wirtschaft und Forschung treffen die Jugendlichen später besser vorbereitet auf die Arbeitswelt. Kurzvorträge durch „Role Models“ veranschaulichen Karrierewege in der Technik. Im Anschluss ermöglichen verschiedene Workshops den Schüler_innen einen Einblick in die regionalen Berufsmöglichkeiten. Durch praktische Übungen werden die unterschiedlichen Tätigkeiten der jeweiligen Berufsfelder sowie Karrierechancen nach der Matura vorgestellt. Die Jugendlichen dürfen zum Beispiel Leuchtstäbe erzeugen, logische Rätsel lösen, Versuche mit keramischen Pulvern durchführen, einen Reinraum besichtigen und darin experimentieren, gemeinsam mit Mikroelektronik-Experten eine automatische Tisch-Kehrmaschine bauen oder ein Spezial-Labor besuchen.

The goal is to equip students with knowledge about free online resources, digital study aids and reliable academic tools available online and through the University of Klagenfurt.
