Die Gustav Mahler Privatuniversität für Musik und die Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt schaffen gemeinsam eine Brücke zu Südosteuropa. Es ist die erste Kooperation zwischen den Hochschulinstitutionen. Das Institut für Interdisziplinäre Musikpädagogik der Gustav Mahler Privatuniversität für Musik (GMPU), das Institut für Slawistik der Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt (AAU) eröffnen in Kooperation mit dem Institut für Kulturanalyse der AAU die Zweigstelle Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft e. V. (SOG) in Klagenfurt/Celovec. Die Eröffnung findet am 12. Oktober um 12 Uhr an der Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt statt, beginnend mit einem Vortrag und Empfang sowie einem Forschungskolloquium um 17.00 Uhr an der Gustav Mahler Privatuniversität für Musik.Die Zweigstelle in Klagenfurt wird neben Graz und Wien die dritte der SOG in Österreich und die 22. im deutschsprachigen Raum sein. Die Zweigstelle in Klagenfurt/Celovec wird von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Eckehard Pistrick, Institut für Interdisziplinäre Musikpädagogik von der GMPU geleitet, stellvertretende Leiterin ist Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Cristina Beretta vom Institut für Slawistik der AAU.
