Old Curricula

Up until winter semester 2015/16 students were allowed to enroll for the Diplomstudium Teacher Training Programme, which was divided into two parts and had a regular duration of 9 semesters. Students enrolled in that curriculum must choose two subjects of study. To complete the programme students have to write a Diploma thesis in one of their subjects of study or on didactic aspects of their  subjects. After successful completion of the thesis, students have to take a final oral examination consisting of three parts: the first part covers the subject of the thesis, the second part focuses on didactics, and the third part covers a topic from the students’ second subject of study. In order to successfully complete this programme, students need to meet the following two deadlines:

The first part of the studies must be completed by November 2018.

The second part of the studies must be completed by November 2021.

These deadlines are also important to keep in mind when thinking about when to take the FPs.

Before the introduction of the current curriculum for the BA programme in English and American Studies winter semester 2015/16, the Department of English offered a curriculum that was slightly different. The most notable difference between the new and the old curriculum is that students of the old curriculum have to take a FP (Fachprüfung) instead of the current Placement Test.

In order to still graduate from this curriculum students have to finish their studies before May 2019, otherwise they will be automatically transferred to the new curriculum.
