THE World University Rankings 2022: The University of Klagenfurt achieves outstanding ranking in the field of Engineering
After placing among the top 50 best young universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings, the University of Klagenfurt has now also gained a place in the excellent ranking bracket 201-250 in the field of Engineering, thus scoring the second-best ranking among Austrian universities (Vienna University of Technology is ranked in bracket 176-200).
This result is all the more gratifying, because it was the first time ever that the University of Klagenfurt was ranked in the field of Engineering. The outstanding results achieved by the University of Klagenfurt reflect the strengths of Klagenfurt’s technical sciences: Excellent research and teaching by internationally established academics, an exceptional supervision ratio coupled with a high level of practical relevance, as well as a large network of future top employers from the fields of industry, business and technology.
Facts about THE Ranking
The THE ranking is based on 13 indicators spanning the five areas of teaching, research, citations, international orientation and acquisition of third-party funding from industry. To calculate the recent results, 108 million citations of scientific publications were analysed and 22,000 scientists and scholars from around the world were interviewed.
The THE World University Rankings, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking) and the QS World University Rankings represent the “Big Three” of global university rankings and attract the most attention worldwide. Die Universität Klagenfurt ist in allen drei Rankings vertreten.
