New career programme for international students

Students from 100 different nations fill the campus of the University of Klagenfurt with life. This winter semester, for the first time, our Career Service is organising an exclusive and tailor-made career programme for these students.

This new cooperation project enhances the appeal of Klagenfurt as a place to study and provides the Carinthian labour market with highly-qualified international talent. The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Carinthian International Center – CIC.

“We are mindful of the challenges that international students face when seeking suitable employment. Therefore, we aim to equip them with the necessary know-how so that they can gain a successful foothold on the Carinthian labour market”, Alexandra Truppe, Managing Director of the CIC.

The programme comprises five modules, is free of charge for participants and is offered in English. It provides knowledge about the Carinthian labour market, know-how on application documents, job interviews and LinkedIn, and concludes with a matching event. The trainers are experts who have an international background and who offer the participants an inspiring and supportive setting.

“This new programme is designed as a tailor-made offer for our international students. It boosts their practical skills and imparts sector-specific knowledge that is highly valued by Carinthian employers. It’s a great benefit for students, the economy and the university”, Johanna Ortner, Career Service at the University of Klagenfurt.

Programme launch: 8 November 2023
