A charge applies in all car parks
at the University of Klagenfurt
If you wish to park your vehicle on campus, you need authorisation to park. Parking charges apply to all users without exception every day from 00:00–24:00 for all car parks. Car parks at the University of Klagenfurt are subject to the car parking regulations (information in German).

Car park information for disabled people
If you have an ID card as outlined in Section 29 b of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) or a disabled person’s pass as outlined in Section 40 et seqq of the Federal Disabilities Act (BBG), you may park in any of the university’s car parks without paying a charge
as long as the pass or ID card is placed in the vehicle in a location where it can be clearly seen.
Several disabled parking spaces are available on the AAU campus:
- 2 in the West Car Park (Parkplatz West – delivery entrance)
- 4 in the inner courtyard (entrance via the West or South car park)
- 2 in the East Car Park (Parkplatz Ost)
- 2 in the Mensa Cafeteria Car Park (Parkplatz Mensa)
- 3 in the North Car Park (Parkplatz Nord)

Car park charges
Visitors
Short stay tickets: € 0.50 per 1/2 hour or part of
Day ticket: € 7,–
Short stay and day tickets are available from the ticket machines.
Ticket machine locations: West Car Park (Parkplatz West), Vorstufengebäude Car Park (Parkplatz Vorstufe), East Car Park (Parkplatz Ost – bus stop), South Car Park (Parkplatz Süd), Mensa Cafeteria Car Park (Parkplatz Mensa).
Staff
Season permit: € 10,– per month
This sum will be debited from your account by HR. You will need to sign a consent form for this (must only be signed once).
Season permit application forms can be obtained from the cash desk (Bursar’s Office, Room S.0.39).
Students
4-month permit: € 40,– (valid from the date of issue)
6-month permit: € 60,– (valid from the date of issue)
Month permit: € 13,– (valid from the date of issue)
4-month, 6-month and month permits are available from the cash desk (Bursar’s Office, Room S.0.39) upon presenting your student ID card.

Where should I display my parking permit or ticket?
Your parking permit or ticket should be placed on the dashboard in a location where it is easy to see.
Where and when can I get a parking permit?
You can get a parking ticket from one of the ticket machines on campus.
Staff and students can apply for a permit from the cash desk (Bursar’s Office, Room S.0.39).

What happens to vehicles without a valid authorisation to park and vehicles that have not been parked in an allocated car park?
The parking wardens will leave a parking fine ticket for EUR 30 (including VAT). If this fine is not paid, the case will be referred to a lawyer and legal steps will be taken.
What vehicles will be towed away?
- Vehicles that have not been parked in an allocated car park
- Vehicles that are causing an obstruction to traffic
- Vehicles that have been parked at a fire or emergency exit
