Terms of use of the 24/7-library
The regulations governing the use of the University Library must be observed; in particular, the holdings of the University Library and the inventory of the library facilities must be treated with the utmost care and consideration.
Eating, drinking and speaking loudly are not permitted outside the specially designated areas.
All personal data in connection with the use of the 24/7-library is recorded and stored in accordance with data protection regulations (archiving of data).
- The 24/7-library provides access to the library outside of the designated opening hours. It is operated without library staff. In addition, an access control system is active in the entrance area.
- Use of the library premises within the 24/7-library is reserved exclusively for registered users who have independently activated the 24/7-library function in the campus system in good time (24 hours before the first use) and carry their AAU Card with them.
- By activating the 24/7-library, you agree to the terms of use, which can be viewed in the campus system and on the KUL website.
- Persons who have not registered for the 24/7-library must leave the library at the end of opening hours without being asked.
- If a new AAU Card is issued, the 24/7-library must be reactivated.
- To activate wheelchair access, an informal request must be made at the circulation desk.
- The AAU Card may not be used to give others access to the 24/7-library.
- Any actions that result in the access control being circumvented, overridden or impaired in its functionality are prohibited.
- Users who trigger the alarm of the book security system must wait in the entrance area of the UBK for the arrival of the security staff.
- The instructions of the security staff must be followed.
The KUL may take the following measures in the event of violations of the regulations (including incorrect or incomplete data, misuse of the AAU Card) and misconduct:
- Admonishment (verbal and/or written) – whereby the KUL reserves the right to document admonishments internally in writing
- Withdrawal of access authorization to the 24/7-library
- Restriction or withdrawal of borrowing authorization
- Restriction or withdrawal of the right to use the library (entry ban)
The University of Klagenfurt reserves the right to take legal action in the event of a violation of the University Library’s user regulations or the terms of use of the 24/7-library.
