Manuel Ludwig Lexer is a Senior Manager at Infineon Technologies. In our interview, he shared his perspective on mentoring Mohamed Salem, one of the Technology Scholarship holders and AAU alumnus, and his path from intern to full-time employee of the company.
Could you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your current position at Infineon Technologies?
At Infineon Technologies, I lead a team that is deeply engaged in refining and advancing the design flow for our chip package and board co-design. Our focus is on innovating and enhancing methodologies particularly to support our business line demands for product development. As a manager, my role pivots around driving innovation and strategic development within this domain. This involves not only an understanding of the technical intricacies but also a strong leadership approach to guide and inspire my team. I am fortunate to work alongside a group of highly skilled technical experts, whose insights and expertise are instrumental in advancing our projects. Together, we strive to innovate and refine our processes, ensuring that Infineon Technologies remains at the forefront of semiconductor technology. My leadership style is centered on fostering a collaborative environment where each team member’s expertise is valued and leveraged to drive our collective goals forward.
A former Technology Scholarship holder, Mr. Mohamed Salem, started his study-related internship at Infineon Technologies. Today, he is a full-time employee with the company. As his work mentor and supervisor, could you briefly describe his professional path from your perspective and what it is like to work with ambitious young professionals?
Mohamed Salem joined our team in January 2023, following his impressive work on his master’s thesis in a different team within Infineon Technologies. His outstanding performance during his thesis and the exceptional reputation he built were key factors in him becoming a part of our team. From the outset, Mohamed demonstrated remarkable capabilities, convincing us of his potential with his proactive approach and problem-solving skills.
His positive attitude towards making things possible and his ability to turn challenges into opportunities have been standout traits. The expertise he developed previously is now a valuable asset for our team, contributing significantly to our projects and objectives. Furthermore, Mohamed possesses a strong mindset for learning and adapting to new topics. In the short time since he joined us, he has already shown considerable growth, evolving into an expert who is not just proficient in his field, but also capable of driving and innovating within our team.
