You have enrolled and are already looking forward to your first day at university? Then use the following tips and recommendations to get off to a perfect start at the University of Klagenfurt!
ÖH Info-Days
The “Österreichische Hochschüler_innenschaft” (ÖH) is your student representation and helps you with questions concerning your studies.
For your first orientation at the university and for questions in advance, the ÖH offers the “Info-Days” in the auditorium of the University of Klagenfurt before you start your studies:
Wednesday, 29 January 2025, 9-12 a.m.
Thursday, 30 January 2025, 1-4 p.m.
Campus tours: Wednesday, 9/10/11 a.m. and Thursday, 1/2/3 p.m. The meeting point is at the stand of the Maturant:innenberatung.

Welcome Days on 4 March 2025
At the Welcome Days you will get a head start into university life and can already earn your first ECTS credit! Find more information on the website of the Welcome Days.
Open Day on 28 March 2025
Visit us at our Open Day and gain an insight into the full range of degree programmes offered at the University of Klagenfurt! Our lecturers and students will give you individual advice to help you find the degree programme that suits your interests. On this day, you can also attend lectures and information sessions, get to know our service centres and explore the campus and library on guided tours.

The team at Tutoring & Mentoring also offers support throughout your entire studies.
BeFirst! Mentoring programme for first-generation students
If you are the first in your family to study, let us support you! Our mentors are students at the university themselves and will guide you through all aspects of your studies. More information about the BeFirst! Mentoring programme
The student portal
In the web interface campus.aau.at you can find and organise everything related to your studies (course registration, your grades, confirmation of enrolment and much more).

Get to your destination quickly with the interactive campus map!
The campus map helps you to find every room at the university quickly and easily.
Free WLAN on campus
You can use the eduroam WLAN network at the University of Klagenfurt (and many other academic institutions in Europe and beyond). Find out how to log into the network in this blog article about services for students.

24-hour library
With your AAU Card and following activation via the student portal, you can use the university library at any time: Log in to the student portal with your university account data, go to settings and register for the 24-hour library. More about the library of the University of Klagenfurt
Stay active with the USI!
The University Sports Institute (USI) offers more than 250 courses in various sports activities. You can find the entire course programme for the coming semester on the USI website. Our recommendation: Don’t wait too long to register, some courses fill up quickly – registration for the summer semester starts on 20 February 2025.
Parking at the university
The parking spaces at the University of Klagenfurt are subject to a fee, but as a student you can buy a cheap long-term parking ticket so that you don’t have to buy a new ticket every day. More information about parking at the university.
Climate-friendly travel to the university – by bus!
On the KMG (Klagenfurt Mobil GmbH) website you can find information about which bus routes currently run to the university from your location.
STUDIbike special rate
The nextbike bike rental system offers a special STUDIbike rate for students. One rental station is located directly at the university – you can currently rent 270 bikes at almost 50 stations in the Klagenfurt area and the surrounding communities.
