Research
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity (AICS) is in performing research and teaching in following areas:
- The Information Systems (INFSYS) research group focuses on the application of intelligent system technology to practical problems and the development of methods for building knowledge-intensive software applications.
- The mission of the Intelligent Systems and Business Informatics (ISBI) research group is to promote the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying intelligent behaviour and their embodiment in machines as well as their potential to benefit our society.
- The key research areas of System Security (SYSSEC) research group include Applied Cryptography, Security Infrastructures, IT Risk Management, and the Design and Evaluation of Security Concepts.
- The focus of Semantic Systems (SEMSYS) research group will be methodological foundations and specific application fields of semantic systems.
- The Production Systems (PROSYS) research group focuses on the development of Artificial Intelligence methods for knowledge-intense application areas like production planning, logistics systems, personnel scheduling, system diagnosis and configuration.
- The main interest of the Cybersecurity Research Group (CYBSEC) is in the fundamental principles that enable the creation and secure implementation of cryptography to secure systems.
AICS research groups lead and participate in a number of national and international research projects, ranging from fundamental research to application-oriented research in cooperation with several industrial partners.
