Students of the University of Klagenfurt have the opportunity to participate in Joint or Double Degree Programmes.
Joint and Double Degrees are study programmes in their own right which are called into existence by one or more Austrian Institution(s) of higher education and accredited foreign post-secondary education facilities. These degree programmes are organised by these cooperating institutions and graduates are awarded a combined degree, which entitles them to certain legal ramifications in the cooperating countries.
With a Joint Degree, the graduate is issued one combined diploma from both the home university and the partner university. The degree is awarded to a student who has earned a total of 30 ECTS points for programmes up to 120 ECTS points or a total of 60 ECTS points for programmes over 120 ECTS points at the partner university.
With a Double Degree the graduate is issued two diplomas, one from the home university and one from the partner university. The degree is awarded to a student who has earned a total of 30 ECTS points for programmes up to 120 ECTS points or a total of 60 ECTS points for programmes over 120 ECTS points at the partner university. In the diploma or the diploma supplement it is indicated that this is a degree that is awarded jointly and that the graduation documents are only valid together. The graduate has earned one academic title.
