The Joint-Study programme is an exchange programme with universities abroad most of which are outside the European Union. The bilateral agreements apply as a rule to all subjects taught at the University of Klagenfurt (AAU) and are not restricted to individual degree programmes or faculties.
Students apply for a joint study grant and a place at the host university at the same time. These places have a value of between EUR 5,000 and EUR 25,000, depending on the host university.
Application deadlines:
Study period – winter semester: 15th November
Study period – summer semester: 15th June

Students must be enrolled as degree students at the University of Klagenfurt in order to apply for the Joint-Study mobility programme. Another requirement is good to very good academic performance.
At the start of the semester abroad, bachelor students must have completed 60 ECTS credits.

Duration and extension of study period
For students, the duration of the study period abroad is one semester. This can only be extended at a small number of universities and only following consultation with the coordinator at the University of Klagenfurt.
Selection process
After they have received the applications, the coordinators select the applicants based on subject-related criteria (academic progress and success/grade point average, content and quality of the letter of motivation and other (study) relevant skills (e.g. language skills of the host country). Students will be informed of the results of the selection process by email.
Nomination
After nomination by the academic coordinator and confirmation of the study place by the partner university, it is recommended that students apply for preliminary recognition of examinations before the start of the stay abroad and have the application confirmed by the study programme director.
In further course the International Office nominates students at the respective partner university, which will then contact the students directly regarding the documents required for registration.
