Peace Mediation in Times of War: Panel Discussion concluding the lecture series “Peace through Dialogue“
The wars in Ukraine and in Gaza following the Hamas massacre on 7 October both highlight the limitations of resolving armed conflicts with arms. This event will discuss the need for diplomacy and peace mediation in today’s conflicts. It will explore the different forms and levels at which dialogue can bring adversaries together and create entry points for conflict resolution, be it at the level of decision-makers or civil society, be it at the international, national or local level. The panel is composed of international practitioners and researchers:
Tamra Pearson d’Estrée (University of Denver)
Moritz Ehrmann (Austrian Centre for Peace)
Joseph Marko (University of Graz)
Farida Amiri (Afghan Peace Activist)
Moderation: Maximilian Lakitsch (University of Graz)
