The online course “Transformative peace education: From conflict to peaceful interactions” offers the opportunity to learn about peace education on both theoretical and practical levels. You will acquire subject-specific knowledge and skills suitable for implementing in various contexts and settings.
In addition to the online components, the training also includes self-study and reflection sessions. Lectures by experts alternate with interactive units to discover formats and methods as well as space for reflection and exchange.
The training language is English.
Learning objectives
- learning about the theoretical foundations and state of the art of peace education,
- exploring case studies that provide practical insights into different contexts,
- discussing different forms of violence and transformative approaches in times of polycrisis,
- reflecting on entanglements and power relations in social structures and attitudes that support trauma-informed, peace-oriented, conflict- and context-sensitive practice,
- experiencing peace education methods for future practice,
- reflecting on experiences, learnings and outcomes and
- becoming part of a growing international community of peace education practitioners.
