In diesem Vortrag erhalten Sie einen Überblick über die Geschichte und die Aufgaben der slowenischen Zentralbank sowie eine Beschreibung der Funktionsweise des Eurosystems und des Europäischen Systems der Zentralbanken. Anschließend werden die Organisation und die Aufgaben der volkswirtschaftlichen Sektion der Banka Slovenjie beleuchtet. Diese Sektion besteht aus vier Abteilungen: Analyse und Forschung, Finanzstabilität und makroprudenzielle Politik, Finanzstatistik sowie Internationale Beziehungen. Um Ihnen ein Gefühl zu vermitteln, was es bedeutet, mit uns zusammenzuarbeiten oder für uns zu arbeiten, beschreibe ich kurz ein paar laufende Aktivitäten. Schließlich wollen wir im Detail Kooperations- und Anstellungsmöglichkeiten sowohl für Studierende als auch für Akademiker besprechen. Bei ausreichender Zeit und Interesse des Publikums erhalten Sie eine kurze Zusammenfassung der wichtigsten Ergebnisse der jüngsten Eurosystemprognosen, die am 14. Juni von Präsident Mario Draghi der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert wurden, einschließlich der jüngsten BIP- und Inflationsprognosen.

The presentation starts with an overview of the history and the tasks of the Bank of Slovenia and then describes the functioning of the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks. After setting the stage we zoom into the organization and tasks of the Economics Sector of the Bank of Slovenia. The sector consists or four departments: Analysis and Research, Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy, Financial Statistics and International Relations. To give the audience a feeling of what it means to cooperate with us or work for us we briefly describe a few ongoing activities. We finally discuss in detail the possibilities for cooperation and employment for both students but also academics. If time permits and the audience is interested, a short summary of the main results of the latest Eurosystem projection exercise – presented to the public by President Mario Draghi on June 14 – will be provided, including the latest GDP and inflation forecasts.
