What can you expect?
ENJOY AN EASY START INTO EVERYDAY UNIVERSITY LIFE
The Welcome Days provide you with all you need to know about starting your degree programme. We will show you how to manage your studies in an efficient and focused manner, while also enjoying your time as a student. The Welcome Days are an opportunity for us to give you individually tailored information about your chosen degree programme, as well as general information that will simplify your daily life as a student.
The Welcome Days will offer interactive lectures on Moodle, degree-specific sessions, campus and library tours, and opportunities to meet people and mingle. There will also be information stands in the Aula area providing information about key service facilities at the university.
The Welcome Days count as a course – after your successful participation you will receive 1 ECTS credit!
HOW DO I SUCCESSFULLY PARTICIPATE IN THE WELCOME DAYS?
To successfully participate, you must complete all interactive lectures on the Moodle learning platform and attend the programme on campus on the 1st or 2nd of October 2024. To ensure you receive the ECTS credit for your participation, you must sign the attendance list at the Welcome Days (registration starts at 9 a.m. in lecture hall A – arrive on time!) to confirm your presence. Later registration is not possible! Your signature is mandatory in order to complete the course successfully. From early December, you can assign this course credit in the section “Open electives” (Freie Wahlfächer) of your electronic examination book.

On the 1st and 2nd of October 2024, the following events will take place on campus:

The programme will be offered in German on the 1st of October and in English on the 2nd of October. Attendance on one of these days is mandatory.
On the 1st and 2nd of October 2024, programme directors, teaching assistants and student union representatives will provide you with essential information about your degree programme. The respective sessions will be offered on the 1st/2nd of October 2024 in the language of instruction of the respective degree programme (German or English). Attend the session that matches your degree programme.
Attendance is mandatory to ensure that you receive your first ECTS credit.

These lectures are available online from the 16th of September to the 30th of November 2024.
In order to receive your first ECTS credit, both attending in person on the 1st or 2nd of October 2024 on campus and completing all eight interactive lectures are mandatory.

Interactive Lectures
You will find the eight interactive lectures on the Moodle learning platform. They are mandatory and available online from the 16th of September to the 30th of November 2024. Participation is mandatory. To successfully participate, you must complete all interactive lectures on the Moodle learning platform (achieving over 70 points) and attend the programme on campus on the 1st or 2nd of October 2024. Writing Centre

The Writing Centre at the University of Klagenfurt offers students writing courses, writing groups, writing advice, text coaching and writing workshops on academic writing, and also on job-related or creative writing.

The Admissions and Examinations Office can be visited by appointment for personal enrolment and for important matters that cannot be postponed.
Students can make appointments via the student portal (campus.aau.at). Applicants without access to the registration portal may book an appointment via the general booking page at campus.aau.at/appointments/public/.
